Activity on social media can do lots of different things for different people.
To successfully market your business on Social Media you need to decide what your top 2 or 3 social media goals are and then concentrate on them.
Do you want to:
• Find new customers?
• Drive traffic to your website?
• Position yourself as THE person to do business with?
• Carry out market research?
• Carry out competitor research?
• Raise awareness of your business?
Your choice will help you define who you need to interact with, how and what information you share with them, the tone and language you need to use.
I say it time and again, but you need to know exactly who your target market is, what they are interested in, where they hang out online, what makes them tick, what they want or need help with and what they enjoy buying or doing.
All of this information will help you to work out where you need to be to get in front of your ideal customer and start conversations, just like you would in the ‘real’ world. It also gives you a good idea of what your ideal customer will be interested in reading and responding to.
You then need to create and implement a Social Media Strategy that will bring in new leads automatically, convert sales and boost profits without you having to spend all day glued to your phone, tablet or computer trying to come up with something to say!
